The Commission Stylist Experience
Working on commission in our salon is for they stylists that don’t want the responsibility of running their own business.
Schedule - Commission Stylists are allowed the freedom of choosing their own schedule within the hours we are open. Full time (35-40 hrs week) or Part time (24-30) hrs per week.
Products - All color, backbar, treatments and retail products are provided for our commission based stylists.
Education - We are an education focused salon and are dedicated to elevating the industry. We provide additional education and coaching to all of our commission based stylists.
Being a commission based stylist curates a work life balance, as there is no other business end things required of you when you aren’t in the salon
Renting A Chair At Southern Hair Salon
The independent stylist experience at Southern Hair Salon.
- You have a key and access to the salon Monday – Saturday. 7am- 9pm (our cleaning crew comes in on Sunday)
- Your information will be added to our website along with a link to your booking platform.
- A color locker and station are provided for your individual use. And you supply all your own color tools, and backbar products. (Color, Bowls, foils, Shampoo + Conditioner etc).
- If you choose to sell the salons retail 10% of all sales you make get applied to your chair rental for the following week.
- All chair renters must carry renter and liability insurance and list the salon as additionally insured on their policy.
- Business coaching is available to all of our chair renters upon request.

What you'll get
- Suite renters have 24/7 access to their space
- They must carry an LLC and renter/liability insurance and list the salon as additionally insured on their policy
- Suite renters are provided with a room that has everything they need to do their business within that space. (Color bar, shampoo bowl, chair mirror etc.)
- Renters are responsible for carrying all their own supplies. (Color, backbar, etc.)
- Cleaning supplies are provided for your rooms but our cleaning crew doesn’t have access to your space so you are personally responsible for keeping your space clean
- Stylists are permitted to decorate their room but if they want to change the paint color, they are required to hire a professional painter and pay a deposit up front to have the room restored to its original state, in the event that they leave
- Business coaching is available upon request for all suite renters
